Breast Cancer and Spiritual Enlightenment

Breast cancer or mastectomy can be devastating to our ego as women who experienced breast cancer. Our breast is one of the physical symbols of femininity as women.

Why is that?

Because our society put so much emphasis on women’s breast.

When breast cancer strikes us, we feel disoriented. We automatically feel that our femininity diminished. We become very conscious about our physical appearance, which of course affect our ego.

As a woman who had breast cancer and mastectomy, that’s exactly how I felt when I first diagnosed with breast cancer.

But do we have to feel this way? Is our breast determined who we really are as women or as human being?

Let’s take another look at the situation in an enlightenment point of view.

Enlightenment is a process of peeling back the layers of our mind/ego
to reveal the true and divine infinite Self that we are. It is the "Grand Opening" of our being so that we may totally experience the Universe in all its beauty and dimensions. It is permanent in the spiritual center of our being throughout this turbulent time of experiencing breast cancer.

Enlightenment is the constant realization of true spiritual knowledge and inner peace is at our very center and core of our innermost being. By continuously resting in the quiet peaceful still center in the heart of our being, we will eventually have a spiritual awakening. When we are in the state of mind of enlightenment, we will find ourselves manifesting a rich life, full of meaning, clarity, depth and bliss. At this state of mind, we operate life as spirits verses as physical body. We forget about our breast cancer and the ego does not exist any longer.

Spiritual Enlightenment is a continuous realization that we are an
eternal being who will never die. It comes from a deeper knowing that
we are beyond body and ego. It is celebrating every moment of the day with the feeling of being intimately connected to the entire Universe, as if it is a living, breathing, conscious intelligence that loves us unconditionally.
